KidSight Certified Screener Training (Zoom)

Schedule

Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 7:00 PM Central, conducted over Zoom. The seminar runs approximately one hour.

What is covered

• Anatomy of the eye
• Vision conditions we screen for
• How the screening instruments determine whether a referral is needed
• Proper use of the screening instruments

Certification

After the seminar, participants can take the Certified Screener test online. Passing adds your name to the Certified Screener list and earns a certificate and a Certified Screener name badge.

Before you attend

Review the Training Manual under the "Get Certified" tab on the KidSight USA site. Clubs should collect the names and emails of interested Lions and send them to the KidSight chair by September 9 so they can be added to the Zoom invitation.

Why certify

Many Lions screen successfully without certification, but the designation is proof of competency to the schools and staff where we screen.
